It's all in the details

When I shoot a wedding I strive to capture the details of the event. Brides and families put a lot of time, creativity and thought into their special day. I enjoy finding and capturing the details. But you can't just have a static picture. It must jump at you.



The second photo has received a bit of photoshop. I layered a black and white copy over the color orginal and dialed it back. I also dodged and darkened some areas while lightening others. I'm looking for a antique style.

A wonderful wedding yesterday at the B&B Inn in Apex. The weather was very nice. It was a beautiful day. Here's a quick peek. I came away with a wealth of great shots from details, ceremony, formals and just fun photos.

My FANtastic model

Hannah really wanted to play with her Dad yesterday. She was puttering around my office, asking questions and trying to get my attention. Then she mentioned the fan and it was on! She only gave me about 5 minutes of her time (high fashion models can be such prima donna's sometimes) and this is what we knocked out with a fan, one soft umbrella and one hair light.

I had a great time last night shooting LeAnne and Steve at a very busy Pullen Park last night. The weather was perfect and the park was hopping! I think LeAnne and Steve had a good time as I certainly did. I came away with some great photos and I look forward to printing a couple off for my portfolio. Here are a couple from last night. Working on my collages

If there is one area of photography I need practice with, it's collages. I feel they make a great way to present photos but the technical side of putting them together effectively is a little daunting.
